Mission Beach

Photo Tour | Points of Interest

Mission Beach is a popular beach city destination with a waterfront boardwalk, amusement park,  restaurants & nightclubs all within walking distance.

Home to Belmont Park (with one of California’s oldest wooden roller coasters,) Mission Beach is a densely developed community.  The paved ocean walk along the strand is perfect for a walk, bicycle ride, jog or roller blading, and offers easy access to the walk-out beach and nearby amenities. Enjoy the bustling scene of Belmont Park, eclectic dining, easy water sport rentals or catch an  ’endless waves’ at the Wave House. During the summer season, Mission Beach gets packed with locals, seasonal, and new visitors all coming to enjoy the wide expanse of beach, summer concerts, party atmosphere and laid back beach attitude.

On the bay side, another beach front path winds along the shore of Mission Bay, a marine park with areas for just about any water sport one might desire.  Sail Bay is for large boats and the Model Yacht Pond on Vacation Isle is perfect for toy boats.  Fiesta Island welcomes dogs to splash off-leash, while jet skis and power boats whizz by.  A Wildlife Preserve is located on the north shore of the bay to provide a protected home to birds and marine life.
