“Tucked into the residential area of La Playa, there are some coastal access points where streets meet water, and even a waterfront walking path. Several yacht clubs make their home in the Shelter Island Yacht Basin, and the waters here are full of myriad boats and watercraft. There is plenty to see here, but without public amenities, the area is better suited for a stroll than for a beach excursion. - Parking is severely limited in this primarily residential neighborhood
Directions
Take Interstate 5 to 8 East / Rosecrans exit, and follow signs to Rosecrans Street. Continue on Rosecrans beyond Shelter Island Drive, where you will find the cross streets that provide limited bay access.
