Logistics
- Lifeguard services → if any ← varies by season, day, hours, even weather!
- PB’s main lifeguard station is located at Grand Avenue.
- Standard (non-beach) wheelchairs are available for use at the lifeguard station, non-reservable and first come, fist served. A rubber walkway provides limited access to the sand from the boardwalk
- Restroom and shower facilities available at Grand Avenue
- At Hornblend Street, several concrete stairs provide access to the beach level
Directions
Take Interstate 5 to Garnet Avenue, exit west. Keep to left lanes as Balboa Avenue splits off from Garnet and merges into Grand Avenue, and continue west on Grand to reach Mission Boulevard, the main thoroughfare running parallel to, and approximately one block away from, the beach. Enjoy!
