Dunes Park

Just a few blocks north of Imperial Beach’s Pier is the Port of San Diego’s Dunes Park.  Visitors are greeted with the beautiful ‘Ocean Riders’ statue, created by the renowned environmental artist, Wyland.  This statue was the first installation of the Port’s growing collection of public art situated around the San Diego Bay area.  I’m happy to see art on display, but I wonder when they’ll get around to recognizing the grace and beauty of seagulls?”  Sandbag C. With volleyball, basketball, horseshoe pits and a playground, this picnic area has a variety of amusements, even before you reach the beach.
