Swami’s Beach

“Swami’s is a popular (crowded) surf spot known  for it’s bigger break. It’s located below the towering bluffs of the Self-Realization Fellowship Center.  I myself have came to the realization that I need to give up the junk food & return to nature.  Namaste!”  Sandbag C. Gull

The name ‘Swami’s’ is a result of Paramahansa Yogananda, the founder of the Self-Realization Fellowship Center next door. Local surfers changed the name from ‘Noonan’s’ Beach to ‘Swami’s, and the name stuck. Especially after being featured in the music of the Beach Boys one summer…

A visit to the serene Meditation Gardens of the Self-Realization Fellowship  Center offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, lush tropical landscaping, tranquil alcoves and koi ponds. Admission is free but donations are appreciated.  Park near the gate located on K Street, west of Highway 101.
