Encinitas Beaches

Is surfing at Swami’s good for my surf zen?

Only if your a solid surfer and know the way of the wave. Novices typically get their zen kicked. Swami’s has one of the best surf breaks in the area, and doesn’t have any patience for the novice or ‘kook’.

Encinitas is THE quintessential bohemian beach city, with the added bonus of having one of the best surf breaks along the coast.  Voted the #3 Best Surf Town by Surfer Magazine, Encinitas is not only a haven for all manners of surf, but activities!  Cyclists, joggers, walkers, visitors and residents enjoy the typically sunny days and variety of geography.  Moonlight Beach is a walk-out level beach, while Swami’s & D Street beach access points require a lengthy trek down steep stairs. At high tide, Swami’s ‘point’ goes under water, making a walk north from Swami’s to D Street or Moonlight Beach a bad idea.  Throughout the downtown area, you can enjoy boutiques, unique shops, destination restaurants, coffee cafes & spa salons, all within walking distance along Hwy 101.
