Seagrove Park

“Perched above the beach, Seagrove Park is a popular gathering place for locals and visitors alike. Amenities here are limited, but plenty of shops and cafes are located on nearby Camino Del Mar.  I’m perched here too, so wear a hat…”     Sandbag C. Gull

Logistics

  • Picnicking encouraged in the park, great views & benches
  • Lifeguard services → if any ← varies by season, day, hours, even weather!
  • Metered street parking is available in the vicinity
  • Dogs are permitted on the beach according to seasonal limitations. Observe posted signs
  • South of Seagrove Park there are viewpoints located at the end of all numbered streets.  From these vantage points there are NO maintained routes of access to reach the beach below the bluffs.  You’ll see a popular walking trail just across the railroad tracks, and it easy to see established trails. BEWARE! Crossing the tracks is dangerous& brings the risk of a hefty fine, in addition to the very real hazard of unstable bluffs in this area

Directions

Take Interstate 5 to Del Mar Heights Road and exit west.  Turn right on Camino Del Mar, and left on 15th St.  Look for street parking where 15th ends and Coast Blvd. meets Ocean Ave.
