Is the water really warmer at ‘Warm Waters’ surf break at Tamarack Surf Beach?
Officially, the answer is no, even though the local surfers swear to it… Carlsbad is home to numerous big sandy beaches, small intimate coves, some easier and less crowded surf breaks, miles of paved bluff-top or beach level walks, and panoramic oceanfront parks.
With a beach for every season & every sport, Carlsbad continues to be a destination beach community prized by savvy local families and returning visitors alike. Here you’ll find plenty of elbow room, some calmer surf, and numerous access points & parking along Hwy 101. In north Carlsbad you’ll mostly find wide & soft sandy beaches at Tamarack Surf Beach, Robert Frazee Beach and north of Carlsbad Village Drive. From Palomar Airport Road and south, access points along Hwy 101 evolve from walk out sand to windswept bluffs. Carlsbad State Beach offers a large oceanfront campground, rounding out the quintessential natural California coastal experience.
